A new parliamentary interrogation in Germany

On October 2nd, the German party Alternative für Deutschland submitted a parliamentary interrogation to the government, titled “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) as an issue of air and space surveillance.”

It is a “Kleine Anfrage” (minor parliamentary question), requiring the federal government to provide an official written response within a few weeks.

Three questions were asked:

  • Which federal authority is responsible for collecting, recording, and analyzing reports of unidentified aerial phenomena?
  • Does Germany have standardized guidelines or official terminology (such as “unidentifiable contacts”) applicable to civil and military aviation?
  • What exactly is the protocol to be followed when a military pilot or air traffic controller observes something unusual or unexplained?

The interrogation text can be donwloaded from the German Parliament website.
