A New Question to the European Commission

On July 15th, a new question to the European Commission about UAPs was submitted by a German Member of the European Parliament, Moritz Körner.

After referring to the  recent developments about the topic in the USA, and to the ongoing releases of documents by the  US Government, he asked three questions to the EUC:
1. Has the Commission verified the documents and the statements of its US counterparts on this issue?
2. Does the Commission consider the publications of the US administration to be at all serious?
3. Does the Commission rule out the existence of UAP/UFOs?

Moritz Heimo Körner is a German politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament since 2019.

UAP Research Explained to the German Minister of Scientific Research

On July 16th, Germany federal  Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dorothee Bär visited the Institute for Extraterrestrial Research at Julius Maximilian University in Würzburg. Among other things, IFEX director Hakan Kayal explained their instrumented and scientific research of unidentified flying objects and anomalous aerial phenomena (UAP).

Four Days in Paris: an Overview

On July 16th, during our monthly Zoom Meeting, Edoardo Russo offered EuroUfo.net members a personal  overview of those “Four Days in Paris”, detailing the parallel meetings that were organized from Saturday, June 27th, to Tuesday, June 30th, before and after the UAP Colloquium hosted at the French Parliament, meetings which involved more than 30 fellows coming from all over France as well as from other European countries, with the usual set of discussions, exchanges, personal introductions.

New Issue of Limina Now Available

On July 13th, the third volume of Limina was released. An article by our German fellow Danny Ammon is published in this peer-reviewed journal of  SUAPS (Society for UAP Studies), about “The Demarcation Problem of UAP Studies”.
Ammon argues that UAP Studies requires boundary-work, conceptual demarcation, and differentiated subdisciplines before it can become a rigorous academic field rather than an unduly, mythically unified domain.

Guy Tarade (1930-2026)

French writer Guy Tarade died in Nice on July 21st, at the age of 96 years.

His first book about flying saucers was “Soucoupes volantes et civilisations d’outre-espace” (Flying Saucers and Outer Space Civilisations, 1969), but he was interested in (and wrote books about) all kinds of mysteries, creating his own organization called CEREIC.

He should be credited the worldwide diffusion of the “Palenque Astronaut“: the Mayan prince’s tomb bas-relief which has often been interpreted as an ancient alien. His article about it on the cover page of the Italian UFO journal “Clypeus” (October 1966 issue) was later relaunched by Charroux (1967), Kolosimo (1968), von Daeniken (1969), Vallée (1969), etc.

In 1980 he was one of the founders of IMSA (Institut Mondial des Sciences Avancées)

Even at a late age, he had long been active on Facebook and on his own blog (Les archives du savoir perdu), until 2019..

UFO Target: Italy

Franco Marcucci launched a project to revamp the historic collection of six books about “UFOs in Italy” which were produced by SUF (Sezione Ufologica Fiorentina) since 1975, covering the whole XXth century.

The first volume of this new series titled “UFO Target: Italy” (497 pages) has just been published, covering the years from 1900 to 1954, thus joining and updating the first two ones of the old series.

UAP Colloquium in Paris Parliament: full recording available

Since July 2nd, the full 4 hour recording of the unprecedented UAP debate hosted at the French Parliament on June 29th is available in several languages.

It was edited and published by German journalist Robert Fleischer on his ExoMagazin TV YouTube channel, with both subtitles and a spoken translation in English, as well as in several other languages, thus allowing anybody to follow the full event. You only have to choose to proper language from the settings.

EuroUFO dinners in Paris

Taking the opportunity of the UAP  debate hosted at the French Parliament on June 29th (where as many as four EuroUfo.net members were among the speakers), several ufologists converged to Paris on the previous weekend.

As usual, several private meetings and dinners were organized, involving more than 30 fellows coming from all over France as well as from Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland.

EuroUFO.net at the French Parliament UAP Colloquium

On June 29th, the Victor Hugo room in the French Parliament building in Paris hosted an unprecedented UAP symposium, organized by deputies Arnaud Saint Martin and Pierre Henriet. A detailed account was published on UAP Check website.

Here let us just be proud that, out of ten  speakers who were in the room, as many as four have long been  EuroUFO.net members. And we can say that they made the difference. Kudos to Philippe Ailleris, Pierre Lagrange, Gilles Munsch, and Michael Vaillant.

Ballester Olmos’ New Book

On June 24th the new book by Spanish researcher Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos was published: “UAPs: the XXI Century UFOs” is a 729 page summa of Ballester’s  60 years of active ufology.

It can be read as an updated analysis of UFO paths in this new century, but it’s also a reverse tour beginning with the famous UAP videos of the U.S. Air Force, AARO reports, NASA investigation and the Congressional hearings, and then looking back on decades of UFO research, showing how it has remained trapped in a sensational media loop full of imminent revelations, which never come to anything.

Ballester Olmos emphasizes that it is easy to be fascinated by the extraterrestrial myth; however, to progress it is necessary to abandon any indulgence and apply to this topic the same falsifiability criteria ruling any scientific discipline. That is the real challenge in the study of unidentified objects and anomalies in general.

With a foreword by Pedro Duque, astronaut and former Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, the book is available from the publisher (Reediciones Anómalas) and from Amazon.
