UFO Target: Italy

Franco Marcucci launched a project to revamp the historic collection of six books about “UFOs in Italy” which were produced by SUF (Sezione Ufologica Fiorentina) since 1975, covering the whole XXth century.

The first volume of this new series titled “UFO Target: Italy” (497 pages) has just been published, covering the years from 1900 to 1954, thus joining and updating the first two ones of the old series.

EuroUFO.net at the French Parliament UAP Colloquium

On June 29th, the Victor Hugo room in the French Parliament building in Paris hosted an unprecedented UAP symposium, organized by deputies Arnaud Saint Martin and Pierre Henriet. A detailed account was published on UAP Check website.

Here let us just be proud that, out of ten  speakers who were in the room, as many as four have long been  EuroUFO.net members. And we can say that they made the difference. Kudos to Philippe Ailleris, Pierre Lagrange, Gilles Munsch, and Michael Vaillant.

Ballester Olmos’ New Book

On June 24th the new book by Spanish researcher Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos was published: “UAPs: the XXI Century UFOs” is a 729 page summa of Ballester’s  60 years of active ufology.

It can be read as an updated analysis of UFO paths in this new century, but it’s also a reverse tour beginning with the famous UAP videos of the U.S. Air Force, AARO reports, NASA investigation and the Congressional hearings, and then looking back on decades of UFO research, showing how it has remained trapped in a sensational media loop full of imminent revelations, which never come to anything.

Ballester Olmos emphasizes that it is easy to be fascinated by the extraterrestrial myth; however, to progress it is necessary to abandon any indulgence and apply to this topic the same falsifiability criteria ruling any scientific discipline. That is the real challenge in the study of unidentified objects and anomalies in general.

With a foreword by Pedro Duque, astronaut and former Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, the book is available from the publisher (Reediciones Anómalas) and from Amazon.

UFOs from Naziland – Vol. 3

Third volume in the “Flying Saucers from Naziland” series by Maurizio Verga, this book is comprehensive account of one of most bizarre and persistent modern myths.
Drawing on forty-five years of independent research, primary sources never before available to English-speaking readers, personal correspondence, rare ephemera, and documentation painstakingly traced to its origins, the author reconstructs the entire genealogy of the Nazi UFO legend — from its obscure postwar beginnings to its spectacular present-day life in popular culture, conspiracy networks, and far-right ideology.

How did a handful of dubious press stories from the 1950s mutate into a fully developed mythology, complete with secret spacecrafts Vril and Haunebu, an occult “Vril Society” of female mediums channeling messages from Aldebaran, hidden bases in Antarctica, and an alternate cosmology fusing Third Reich nostalgia with New Age spirituality? Who were the real people behind the myth?

Five different  threads are developed across nine chapters:
– The bifurcation of the mythology into an esoteric-religious branch and a secular-technological branch
– The retroactive generation of fake documentation, drawings, dossiers, and “archives” manufactured decades after the war and presented as authentic
– The cross-pollination among a small network of authors who cited each other to create the illusion of independent corroboration
– The escalation from contained pseudo-historical claims to a totalizing cosmology connecting Nazi technology, ancient civilizations, and interstellar contact
– The unbroken thread of far-right ideological commitment running through the mythology from the 1950s to the present day

400 pages with a detailed chronological outline and a comprehensive bibliography, available from Amazon

Presenting UAP Coalition the Netherlands

EuroUfo.net + UAP Check monthly Zoom Meeting on June 18th had the UAP Coalition Netherlands as a guest.

It is not a typical UFO organization but a sort of lobbying group, with the aim of “reducing the stigma” about our topic within public administration offices. At the same time, they are suggesting and practicing a completely different operating method from the  wild American “disclosurists”.

UAP Coalition’s chairman, Joachim Dekkers, presented the UAP Coalition, its goals and activities. The video recording of his presentation may be watched on EuroUFO YouTube channel.

A private discussion then followed with the attending fellows from 11 different countries.
