French writer Guy Tarade died in Nice on July 21st, at the age of 96 years.

His first book about flying saucers was “Soucoupes volantes et civilisations d’outre-espace” (Flying Saucers and Outer Space Civilisations, 1969), but he was interested in (and wrote books about) all kinds of mysteries, creating his own organization called CEREIC.

He should be credited the worldwide diffusion of the “Palenque Astronaut“: the Mayan prince’s tomb bas-relief which has often been interpreted as an ancient alien. His article about it on the cover page of the Italian UFO journal “Clypeus” (October 1966 issue) was later relaunched by Charroux (1967), Kolosimo (1968), von Daeniken (1969), Vallée (1969), etc.

In 1980 he was one of the founders of IMSA (Institut Mondial des Sciences Avancées)

Even at a late age, he had long been active on Facebook and on his own blog (Les archives du savoir perdu), until 2019..
