The Danish Policeman Case – New Investigation and Findings

SUFOI is publishing a new book titled “Danish X-Files – The Police Officer’s Experience in the Dark” (in Danish) by Asger Poulsen and Ole Henningsen.

It is the result of six years of renewed investigation into what became Denmark‘s best-known UFO case: on August 12, 1970, a police officer was driving his patrol car when the car’s engine and lights suddenly failed as the vehicle was illuminated by an intense beam of light from above. The interior of the car becoming warm and, as the light appeared to withdraw, he saw a large, flat, greyish object above the car before it disappeared rapidly and silently. He was able to take six photographs.

Drawing on original photographs, contemporary interviews, private archives, military records and previously unpublished material, the authors reconstruct the events, and re-examine several explanations proposed over the following decades.

Surprisingly, they show that the incident was considerably more complex than the story usually told over the past half-century – with some long-standing explanations becoming less plausible while newly uncovered information opens other avenues for understanding what  Evald Hansen Maarup experienced that night.

A longer presentation by Benny Christen Grandahl may be read on UAP Check news page.
